When all of the Octonauts get trapped in a dangerous blob of marine mucilage, or sea snot, the Vegimals must step up and rescue the crew in time for the Christmas meal.
Plot[]
It's Christmas Eve, and inside the Octopod, the Vegimals are cooking up the Christmas feast. Meanwhile in the HQ, the Octonauts are decorating the place. Eventually, Tunip and the other Vegimals begin setting up the table after getting chased by a train pulling presents, only for Codish to accidentally sneeze, and ruin it, thanks to some pepper he was holding that got dropped. Afterwards, Shellington explains how he discovered the Vegimals. See here. However, the Vegimals go back to the kitchen, to discover the cake, was over burnt, causing Tunip to faint.
Back at the HQ, Dashi, Shellington and Inkling go out to explore a brine lake that recently showed up, but are soon disrupted by a Crab, saying “It’s coming. It’s coming!” Before running away, and they are captured by a Snot Blob (Marine Musalage). Barnacles, Kwazii, Peso and Tweak go out to find them, however are also trapped in the blob with them. What makes things worse is that the creatures living near the lake are also in danger of being trapped. Barnacles messages Tunip. Tunip jumps into action and sounds the Octo Alert to summon the other Vegimals to the HQ. However they keep getting lost. Eventually they do make it there, and Tunip explains to them the situation. Tunip then shows the other Vegimals a video Barnacles sent him, that being Vol. 17 of the Octonauts Video training series, which teaches about Blob rescues. The segment specifically focuses on the line “A Vehicle and rescue line, beats a blob every time.” After watching the video, the Vegimals prepare to go out to the brine lake, each taking different gups: Tominnow takes the Gup-B, Grouber takes the Gup-A, Barrot takes the Gup-D, and Tunip and Codish pilot the Gup-X. On their way, Codish accidentally splits apart the Gup-X, which causes all the gups to crash, and leaving no way for the Vegimals to reach the crew. However, Tunip comes up with an idea.
In the launch bay, the Vegimals are constructing a new brand new gup out of the Christmas train, whilst the Octonauts attempt to free themselves from the blob to no avail. The resulting product of their construction is the Gup-V! Which the Vegimals all work together to pilot. They successfully reach the Octonauts, and Barrot manages to use the Gup V's rescue line to pull the crew, and the Gup-E out. Then, they use the vaccum to suck up the sea snot, and save all the creatures. Right before however, Tunip is launched off of the Gup-V, but is saved by Codish at the last second, only for him to then crash the Octo-Ski. Tunip ends up knocked out, and dreams about himself as Santa Claus, and all the other Vegimals as reindeer.
Tunip eventually wakes up from his dream and is praised for saving the day. He then dashes to the cake after remembering it, but is relieved to see that it is not burnt. All the Vegimals then gather in the HQ to perform a Vegimalese version of “Jingle Bells”. Codish, who is still flying in the Octo-Ski, then flies down and says “Chipa Christmas!” to end the episode.

Trivia/Goofs[]
- There are no smoke alarms anywhere seen inside of the Octopod. When the giant kelp-cake was being heated in the oven, it would have immediately killed all of the Octonauts and the Vegimals themselves, because carbon monoxide, an invisible gas that isn't seen but can kill you, is detected in a fire.
- The Christmas train resembles Thomas The Tank Engine which can be seen running round a dinner table in the octopod.
- When Barrot is dancing during the Vegimals' rendition of Jingle Bells, the Christmas Train could be seen despite it being turned into the Gup-V.
- When the creatures are seen running away from the sea snot, there're creatures seen on a white rock that aren't moving.
- This episode uses foreshadowing; before getting stuck in the blob, Barnacles mentions using the Gup-C’s Tow-line to pull out Dashi, Inkling and Shellington. This eventually foreshadows how the Vegimals learn how to rescue the Octonauts.
- During the first few scenes of the Gup-V’s construction, Codish is shown despite being on the Octo-Ski. He’s removed by the third scene
- This is the second Christmas episode.
