The Adélie penguin is a type of penguin which only lives in Antarctica. It lays eggs and then dives down to collect food to feed the baby penguins. The chicks are too young and have small feathers. If they swam in the icy water they would get sick. The penguins collect small pebbles to make their nests.
In The Adelie Penguins, Captain Barnacles and Kwazii go with Peso to meet his cousins to help babysit the chicks while their parents go out to sea for food.
In Operation Deep Freeze, the whole crew heads to the Antarctic to answer a mysterious call for help when they cross paths with Peso's Adelie Penguin cousins, including one named Ooju, as they are making their journey from the sea onto the land to reach their nesting grounds.
