The Gup-G is a Gup based on a salamander, and fittingly, first appears in the episode, The Chinese Giant Salamander. It had an early appearance in the sixth Octonauts book by Meomi titled “The Octonauts and the Growing Goldfish” in 2014, before officially debuting in the Octonauts and The Caves of Sac Actun film. It has retractable legs that expand to help it stand and walk on land and contract to move fast through the water. The mouth can open up and act as a way to enter or exit the ocean or land. It also acts as a mobile HQ.

Trivia[]
- The Gup-G, being extremely large, can hold a few other Gup’s inside of it. A few examples are the Gup-Q & Gup-M’s (in The Caves of Sac Actun) and the Gup A (in The Chinese Giant Salamander).
- It is one of the few gups that can carry the whole Octonauts crew on board.
- Though there is no confirmation, it is speculated that the G stands for Gup. It is believed to be this as it is evident that the Gup can carry different Gup’s inside of it, justifying the speculation.
- Because of Season 5’s delayed release, the Gup-G officially makes it’s English debut in The Caves of Sac Actun, even though it was first introduced in Season 5.
