Overview[]

The Reef Base is a base and headquarters situated above water for the Octo-Agents. Though the actual base is situated above water, there is an artificial reef attached to the bottom, fully underwater. The base was constructed using bricks of compacted trash that was collected from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. The building and development of the base were led by Octo-Agent Bud, with the rest of the crew acting as a team, assisting with the project.

It was introduced in The Great Pacific Clean-Up, an episode of the fourth season of the Octonauts spin-off, Above & Beyond.

Design[]

The Reef Base is based on a nautilus shell, and has 4 levels. The first level features the Octoray landing pad, parking space for Terra-Gups, and a large communications room; with a large circular conference table, many screens, maps and radars. The fourth level features a rooftop greenhouse/garden, including many trees, cacti, and vines, much to Octo-Agent and botanist Selva's interest.

There is an elevator that runs through the center of the base, allowing easy access to any of the four levels. In addition to this, there is also a slide that runs from the third level downward. The exterior of the base features 3 small, elevated landing pads, which air-borne Gups, such as the Gup-H, can land on.

Areas and Rooms[]

The Reef Base has many different rooms, and was said to be enough to accommodate all Octo-Agents. This includes a workshop for Bud and many other rooms that have yet to be shown.

Bud's Workshop[]

A spacious building workshop where sustainable builder Bud can work away on creations. The workshop has a red accent with majority of the furniture being different tones of brown (similar to wood). There are quite a few pictures hung up on the wall, this includes one of his parents; from a scene in the Season 5 episode, The Beavers.

Rooftop Garden[]

A garden consisting of plant nurseries, plant beds, grass beds and small potted plants on the walls. This is the highest level in the Reef Base therefore it has a clear glass dome as its roof. The clear dome also aids in providing the plants with direct sunlight, something they need to thrive and grow.
