Scared Simon is a young sperm whale who is scared of diving down into deep water, which is his biggest fear. Peso tries to teach him to dive, but gets trapped in a giant clam in the process. Simon dives down and helps Barnacles and Kwazii to lift him up and frees Peso. Unlike real sperm whales, he has teeth on his top jaw as well as his bottom.
Due to his fear of diving, his older brother and the other sperm whales in his pod often make fun of him and bully Simon for getting scared of everything, and even act like as if he was a Scaredy Cat. They also laugh about how Simon mistook Peso for an Orca.
