Spiny Sue is a Suckermouth Catfish. She appeared in the episode The Great Swamp Search, as one of the three invasive species Ranger Marsh was searching for. She was the first caught in the special. The Octonauts discover her inside the pouch of a pelican, who was trying to eat her. Her spines got caught in the Pelican's pouch, however, leading to Peso having to use his octo-grabbers to pull her out. Sue ends up escaping however, and causes a mad dash to catch her. Marsh is the one to do this, using his bare paws to catch her. She was brought back to South America after the episode
She reappeared in Above and Beyond Season 2 in The Monitor Lizards where Ranger Marsh comes to check on her and make sure she is feeling at home. She also hears the story of how Ronnie, Donnie & Lonnie came to realize they do belong in Africa.
