"The Octonauts and the Beetle Invasion" is the third episode of the Above & Beyond spin-off series' first season.
When Calico Jack and Pete are rudely disturbed by an ongoing fight between a washed up Bombardier Beetle colony and frogs, it's up to Kwazii to help his grandfather sort things out. But when the time comes to take the colony to a new island, Kwazii must face his fear of spiders to save one of the colony's members.

- The characters paired up for this mission are Kwazii and Calico Jack.
- This is the first episode where Kwazii faces a real spider, a skull spider. And, once again, Kwazii faces his fear to save Bailey from the lady skull spider.
- When considering Season 5's delay, as it takes place before Above & Beyond in-universe, this episode (to some capacity) marks Calico Jack's first major physical appearance since his debut in The Amazon Adventure special in Season 2.
- This marks the third episode in the franchise to have frogs in it (The Poison Dart Frogs and The Bullfrogs).
