While traveling in the Gup-B, Kwazii finds a coconut in the ocean with the mark of a cat-like pirate sign, indicating that it belongs to Calico Jack, a legendary pirate cat and his grandfather. However, neither the Octonauts nor a family of coconut crabs can open the so-called coconut of Calico Jack, so they work together to crack it open.

Summary[]
The Mysterious Coconut[]
The episode begins with Kwazii racing against some flying fish, but as his Gup ends up crashing into something. It's revealed to be a coconut with Calico Jack's logo on it. He shakes it and finds that there's something inside it. He tries to crack it, but to no avail. He then takes it back to the Octopod in hopes that Tweak will have an invention that will help. After unsuccessfully testing multiple inventions, she brings up one she has made recently: the Octo-Claw, modeled after the coconut crab. However, it still doesn't work. Captain Barnacles sounds the Octo-Alert.
The Coconut Crabs[]
After learning from Shellington that the coconut crab is a land creature that can crack coconuts using their giant claw, Kwazii, Tweak, Peso, and Barnacles travel to an island to find some coconut crabs for some help. They find a family of five who claim that the coconut Kwazii has was originally theirs. They explain that many years ago, the family rescued Calico Jack by feeding him coconut milk, who told them some pirate tales in return. Then, he disappeared the next day, leaving nothing but the coconut. It floated away a few days ago after they tried opening it and they couldn't swim after it. They also reveal that they still couldn't crack it and it embarrasses them since cracking coconuts is basically what they do.
A Crab In The Water[]
Barnacles suggests that they all try to crack the coconut together. After pulling on it, the three kids fall into the water, stressing out the parents. Tweak, Claude (the father coconut crab), Kwazii, and Barnacles head inside the Gup-X, bringing some coconuts with them. Meanwhile, Peso would use the Octo-Ski to rescue the babies. They found the coconut crab kids and cracked coconuts for them to use as life preservers, allowing them to float long enough for Peso to collect them on the Octo-Ski. Kwazii gets a closer look to rescue Clam, The Gup X hits turbelence but Claude grabs Kwazii before some flying fishes pass a message to Kwazii. Clarence (The 3rd baby crab) almost gets eaten by a great white shark but Peso grabs him in time. As they fly back, they crack the mysterious coconut by dropping on a rock.
Calico Jack's Message[]
Kwazii comes to a realization and explains that the "coconut" is actually a hollowed-out cannonball from Calico Jack's ship. Inside are a message and three small coconuts. Kwazii reads it, the letter saying that Calico Jack thanked them for taking care of him and left the small practice coconuts for the kids. On the other side of the note, he also says to tell Kwazii "Yeow!!!" if they ever meet him.
