Summary[]
A population of crawfish is attacked by an itchy fungus called "shell rot" passed on from a mysterious creature and the Octonauts must find a way to cure the crawfishes. This episode comes right before The Surfing Snails in the US version.

- Codish was called in his exact name for the first time in the series. The next time would be in the movie, The Octonauts and The Caves of Sac Actun.
- All Octonauts were needed for this mission.
- This marks another example of an invasive species (Chinese Mitten Crab) after the Great Swamp Search.
- A nutria appeared in this episode which was another invasive species which the Octonauts should have returned back to South America. However, the Nutria seemed to have used the same Capybara model from the Amazon River Episode.
