”The Octonauts and the Mountain Parrots” is the twenty-second episode of the Above & Beyond spin-off series' second season.
Whilst the crew help Paani set up new weather stations in the mountains, two Keas sneak aboard the Octo-Ray and begin causing trouble. However their curiosity sends it on a crash course straight into the mountains, forcing them to team up with Kwazii and Paani to stop the Octo-Ray from crashing.

Plot Summary[]
Paani has found a spot for a new weather station, and so Dashi is flying there in the Octo-Ray with the weather station parts onboard. The Mountain Parrots fly down from a tree and start swarming Paani, as there is something in his bag that interests them. As the Octo-Ray is getting closer one of the rotors gets stuck and causes the Octo-Ray’s steering to become ruptured but it manage’s to fix itself just before they land. After they land the Octo-Ray Tweak goes to investigate why the Rotor became stuck, whilst Kwazii and Dashi unload the parts for the Weather Station. The Mountain Parrots spot the Octo-Ray and they fly inside to go see what it is, and once they are onboard, start pulling screws and bolts out of Chairs, messing with the vending machine, and knock over a jar of pink ooze, causing it to spill all over the floor. When Tweak comes inside of the Octo-Ray, she enters the engine room, and leaves the door open, allowing the Parrots to fly in. After seeing Tweak tighten the bolt they decide that they should try and “turn it the other way.” But when they loosen it the bolt flys of the gear and down a vent shaft. After leaving the engine room they perch on a handrail and spot Tweaks Octo-Watch and decide to go and see what it is, they manage to take her Octo-Watch from her without her noticing and then they fly away back into the trees. Tweak decides to stay behind and assemble the weather station while Dashi, Kwazii and Paani fly away to go find another spot for the next weather station. Before they take off the Parrot’s fly back into the Octo-Ray. Paani try’s to grab a snack from the vending machine but the glass casing falls off and kelp cakes fall out of the vending machine. When Kwazii sits down the Chairs arms fall off and then the Chair falls off the base. When they take off the rotor gets stuck again, and Dashi calls Tweak via her Octo-Watch but the Parrot’s answer instead. Paani and Kwazii go down into the hangar to find them, and Dashi sounds the Octo-Alert, and Shellington explains what they are and why they are in the Octo-Ray. Barnacles and Peso fly in the Gup-H to find Tweak. Kwazii and Paani lay tools out on the floor for the Parrots and when they flew down to see what they where, Paani and Kwazii would lock them inside the bedroom so they couldn’t cause anymore damage. The Parrots manage to unlock the door to let themselves out. Barnacles and Peso arrive at where Tweak is located, and tell her that she needs to fix the Octo-Ray. The Parrots enter the engine room again try to fix the steering axel, but Paani and Kwazii find them before they can do anything. Tweak calls Paani and tells them how to fix the steering but they don’t have the bolt to fix it, but luckily the Parrot’s remember that the bolt is in the shaft so they grab a wrench and try to pull the bolt out and they manage to get it out and Paani and Kwazii tell them to tighten the bolt and the Parrot’s fix it just in time to let Dashi pull up and avoid the mountain.

- This is the third time the Octo-Ray malfunctions due to specific problems (first in The Hurricane Hunter Adventure and The Flying Foxes).
- Throughout the episode, one of the parrots asks about things curiously, while the other always says, "Dunno. Let's find out".
- This episode lets the viewer get a better look at the interior of the Octo-Ray more than ever before. This includes a sleeping quarters which contains several pictures on the wall. One of Kwazii and Paani from The Skeleton Coast Adventure, another of Min from The Bamboo Rescue, and a photo of Calico Jack, presumably from The Beetle Invasion.
