”The Octonauts and the Secret Beneath the Snow” is the eleventh episode of the Above & Beyond spin-off series' second season.
In the midst of a snowstorm in the Great Lakes region, Paani is reluctantly allowed to hide out in the burrow of a roughed grouse named Gus. The next morning however, the two learn that they've been trapped inside, and to make things worse Gus has gone almost four days without eating. While Peso travels through the subnivium to free the two, Tweak is left to keep two hungry wolves from getting to them first.

- The characters paired up for this mission are Peso, Tweak, and Paani.
- This is one of the few times in the series in which a creature accidentally self-inflicts themselves. In this case, Priscilla accidentally pricked herself with one of her spikes as she and Peso travel through the subnivium.
- This is the first time when someone's Octo-Watch's battery dies. And also reveals that Octo-Watches have battery life
- Paani's story to Gus involves him having to keep quiet to prevent an avalanche in the Himalayas. This could possibly be a call-back to The Hot Spring Snake, and potentially implies that Paani was responsible for the events that occurred during the episode. Although this is unlikely, as a mudslide happened in that episode instead of an avalanche.
