Tom the Tiger Shark

Tom is a young tiger shark who first appeared in the episode "The Tiger Shark" in Season 4. He was first seen chasing after a pod of dolphins to eat. When he saw Sandy he chased after her, but only ended up eating the Sandy Cam. Tweak takes the Gup-B to the reef but finds no trace of Sandy. Tom spots her and chases her through the reef to try and eat her. Kwazii reminds Tweak to try the different modes in the Gup to get away from Tom. First, she tries Tiger Shark Mode, but Tom still chases her, because tiger sharks eat other tiger sharks, too. She then tries Flying Fish Mode, but he can leap out of the water and swim too fast. She finally used the turbo button to get as far away as she could. Peso soon discovers that Tom had eaten a bunch of junk that was making his stomach hurt, including his x-ray scanner. When the Gup-B goes haywire, both Tweak and Tom end up in a dark cave. Tom's stomach is too sore for him to try and eat Tweak, so he helps her get out of the cave with his night vision, and Peso is able to remove the junk from his body. Tweak relieves his hunger by feeding him some of her carrots, and he says goodbye to everyone.

  • Tiger sharks are called the "Wastebaskets of the Sea", since they'll eat anything they find.
  • Tiger sharks have been known to eat sea turtles.
  • It is said that a Tiger Shark is what bit off the famous surfer Bethany Hamilton's left arm.
  • They are one of the three most dangerous sharks in the Pacific Ocean. The other two being a Bull Shark and a Mako Shark.
  • Tom the tiger shark uses the same great white shark model from The Great White Shark episode in season 2, except it is retextured, and repainted.
