Vim is a special kind of creature called a wisent (a European bison, cousin of the North American bison). He's taller with longer legs and a longer neck. Since there's less grass in the forest, being tall allows him to eat the berries and leaves grown on the trees.
He first meets Periwinkle who climbs on his back and gives him back scratches with his toy model of a Gup-M. He then greets Peri's mom, his uncle, and Tweak, and reveals to them he got separated from his herd after he hurt his leg tripping by a stream while running from a brown bear. Using a wheel from Shellington's Gup-M, Tweak attaches it to Vim's injured leg so he can roll on it until they could get him to Peso and Dashi in the Octo-Ray to get it bandaged. Just then, a hungry brown bear spots them and chases them toward the meadow. Though Vim was nervous about getting on the ship, Peri comforted him, and they all got on just in time. Vim then reunited with his herd and promised he could keep up. Periwinkle bids farewell telling Vim not to forget him. Though Pearl assures him he won't.
